This was the first live action TVC project that ASAP commissioned me to produce. We set this up in a sound studio since high-quality dialog was called for. It was a good thing that I had shot in this location a few times before so I knew exactly what to do and what gear to bring. For the talent's face I had a 750-watt Kino florescent bank with egg-crate diffusers to soften the shadows on the face. I also had a couple of 1K Film Gear fresnels wih barn-doors.
Screen Captures Sheet 1. These screen shots were pulled directly from the finished master. The part where food came popping out of the chart held by the talent was one the trickiest effect shots in this project. It involved image stabilization, compositing and camera tracking.
Screen Captures Sheet 2. This project was loaded with special effects shots. The graphics for this took more than 80 percent of the total post production time.
Behind the Scenes. This was how the set looked like at left as I planned the first shot. The final set design looked a bit different than this one (as you can see later in the finished TV ad) because the agency producers were not satisfied with this backdrop arrangement. At right, I am directing the gaffer or the crew member in charge of lighting. The talent can be partially seen through the window behind me as he rehearsed his lines with Mae, an agency staffer.
The final edit of the ad in Tagalog with accompanying user testimonial in Illonggo.
